3 men facing drug charges in Georgia

It was recently reported that three men were arrested following an alleged drug deal in Georgia. All three are now facing several charges for the incident, including drug charges. These are not going to be taken lightly in criminal court, and accordingly, each of the accused individuals has the right to retain legal counsel.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, three men -- two of them soldiers based at Fort Benning -- were arrested for their alleged involvements in a drug deal. According to reports, at approximately 3:30 a.m., on Columbus State University property, one of the men tried to sell cocaine to the other two when he was attacked. He did suffer injuries that required medical care, so he was transported to an area hospital for treatment before being taken to jail.

A 44-year-old male has been charged with cocaine distribution, while the two soldiers -- ages 28 and 32 -- are charged with possession and strong-arm robbery. The alleged dealer was quickly released on bond, while the other two men initially remained in police custody. It is unclear if they have been released at this point.

In Georgia and elsewhere, drug charges are nothing to take lightly. Convictions on such charges, and the others filed as a result of this incident, can affect each of the accused both personally and professionally for years to come. With so much on the line, an experienced criminal defense attorney can assist each of these gentlemen in pursuing legal actions that will best benefit them now and in the future.
