Man in custody on felony drug trafficking and weapons charges

Police in Georgia, along with federal agents, raided a home in Coweta County earlier in June and arrested the man that they say is responsible for running a meth lab on the property. The accused is facing felony drug trafficking and weapons charges. As children were living in the home, child endangerment charges are also likely.

Other residents near the home complained to police of frequent traffic at the property at all hours of the day and night, and gun fire daily. It is unclear if these complaints alone led to the raid or if authorities were already investigating the residents of this home for possible drug activity. According to a recent news report, when DEA agents searched the home they found a meth lab, nearly $3 million worth of methamphetamine and four loaded weapons.

The man of the house was arrested. He allegedly told investigators that he is in the country illegally. His wife was not arrested, and there is no word about what happened to the three children, all elementary school aged, who were living in the home.

The felony charges filed in this case are a big deal. If convicted, the accused could spend the rest of his life behind bars and have to pay hefty fines that could devastate his family’s finances. Though it will not be easy, this individual is due his day to defend himself before a Georgia criminal court. Having an attorney who has experience handling tough drug crimes cases on his side could help him as he seeks the best outcome possible to his case.
