Georgia Woman Facing Neglect, Burglary and Drug Charges

A Georgia woman with a criminal past was recently arrested for allegedly burglarizing a house and committing a number of other serious offenses. She is now facing neglect, burglary and drug charges as a result. She stands to lose a lot if convicted. As such, she deserves the best criminal defense possible.

According to a recent news report, police took custody of a 39-year-old woman when she left a house that she was allegedly burglarizing. While arresting the woman, they found her 4-year-old son in the vehicle, supposedly sleeping by several bags of meth and drug equipment. They also are said to have found DVDs, toys and tools for committing the crime.

The accused does have a shoplifting conviction on her record. She was on probation for that charge at the time she was arrested for this most recent event. While it is this recent offense that the court will be focusing on, this previous conviction will certainly not help her as she moves to fight the current charges against her.

The combination of neglect, burglary and drug charges may hurt the accused’s chances of keeping her parental rights to her young son intact. With so much riding on this case, it matters how it is presented in a Georgia criminal court. With the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney, this individual can take all the steps necessary to fight the charges and fight to keep access to her child. While this may be an uphill battle, with legal counsel at her side, she can seek to achieve the best possible outcome under the circumstances.
