Georgia Woman Arrested for Drunk Driving

Police in Georgia recently arrested a woman who they say was operating a vehicle while impaired in Atlanta. Several charges have been filed against her, including one for drunk driving. Depending on how her case is fought in criminal court, she could be facing a number of serious consequences for this alleged event — if she is ultimately convicted.

According to a local news outlet, the morning of March 9, the accused was pulled over for a routine traffic stop. The woman allegedly exited her vehicle then hopped back in and sped away. Police followed her as she got on the interstate. She did not get far before losing control of her car and crashing.

It was not reported if the accused was injured in the wreck. She has since been arrested and charged for the incident. It is unclear if this individual is still in police custody pending a court date or if she has been released.

The alleged actions of the accused will not be taken lightly in a Georgia criminal court. If convicted, she stands to face serious consequences that could drastically impact her future. With the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney, the accused can fight the drunk driving and other charges filed against her. This can be done by reviewing evidence, questioning the validity of DUI testing equipment and method, and by reading through police reports. By fully investigating the matter, information may be found that can help the accused as she fights for the best possible outcome.
