Georgia Man Facing a Number of Felony and Misdemeanor Charges

Police in Georgia recently arrested a man who they say led them on a high-speed chase through the streets of Floyd County. He is facing a number of felony and misdemeanor charges for the incident. As such, how he approaches his case and who he has on his side is going to matter.

According to a recent news report, on Sept. 18, police responded to a call about an assault at the Studio 6 Skytop in Rome. When authorities arrived on scene, a 29-year-old Forsyth man allegedly fled in his vehicle. Police followed the man, who eventually dumped his car and fled on foot. He was taken into police custody shortly after.

The accused is said to have threatened a woman with a firearm. He has since been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, making terroristic threats, fleeing police and various traffic violations. He was taken to the Floyd County Jail. It is unclear if bond was set in his case.

The felony and misdemeanor charges filed against the accused may carry significant penalties if prosecuting attorneys are able to achieve convictions. Without experienced legal counsel fighting on his behalf, that very well may happen. While there are never any guarantees for a positive outcome when fighting a case in a Georgia criminal court, there are steps the accused can take to help his position. A criminal defense attorney will have the ability to guide this individual through his criminal proceedings and help him make informed legal decisions as he seeks the best possible outcome.
