Drunk driving is a serious crime that leaves the accused subject to serious consequences if convicted. We at Miles Hansford & Tallant, LLC, know that people who have never even had so much as a brush with the law in Georgia can find themselves facing DUI (driving under the influence) charges.
It is not advisable to face DUI accusations or charges alone. That’s why our criminal defense attorney, Brian Hansford, will work closely with you to analyze your situation and challenge your case to give you the best chance at a positive result.
Why Should You Act Within 30 Days?
You only have thirty days from the date of your DUI arrest in Cumming GA, or anywhere in Forsyth County, to keep your Georgia license from being suspended. For an Administrative License Suspension (ALS) hearing request or an ignition interlock device request, you or your Cumming Georgia DUI attorney will need to pay $150. If you do not request this hearing or device, you can expect your Georgia driver's license to be automatically suspended.
Your Georgia driver's license will be suspended for one full year if you refuse the state's breath, blood, or urine chemical test, no exceptions, no limited permit, and no early reinstatement. Get in touch with one of our Cumming GA DUI Attorneys right away. Cumming Georgia DUI charges are serious, and you have a great deal at stake.

In Georgia, punishment for DUI convictions, even if it’s your first, can be severe. You could face fines, jail time, loss of your driving privileges and even a permanent criminal record. That’s why it’s important to consult with a lawyer, such as Brian Hansford, who knows DUI laws and how to use them to a client’s advantage.
The penalties are both civil and criminal in a DUI case in Georgia. The consequences that affect your driver’s license (either a suspension or revocation) are handled as civil matters, while the monetary fines and potential jail time are part of a criminal case against you.
